HMS Liverpool (D92) a Batch 2 Type 42 destroyer built by Cammell Laird at Liverpool and launched on the 25 September 1980 by the Lady Strathcona. She is the 7th commissioned ship to bear the name in the Royal Navy.
Her operational career has included the 2003 Iraq War and anti drug smuggling operations in the Caribbean. Her nickname is 'Crazy Red Chicken'. In the Latter part of March 2011 she played an active role in 'Operation Unified Protector' in the NATO blockade of Libya. During which she conducted shore bombardment over the city of Zlitan. She was 410ft long with a top speed of 30 knots and a displacement of 4.820 tons. She was decommissioned in 2012.
